On Thursday I had the pleasure of heading out to Sylvan Lake to photograph a newborn! Its always so much fun to go and meet them parents the first them, while pregnant, and then head back a month or so later..to meet their family!

This little man had a bit of a slow start, but he is rocking things NOW!

Meet Noah! he was the sweetest little angel..he tried so hard to resist sleeping…but in the end…we got the shots we were so after!

I was Blessed yesterday to spend a quiet morning with a family in Blackfalds.  Overnight they went from a family of 4 to a family of 6! I walked into their home and everything was quiet and calm..TOTALLY not what I was expecting.

There is not enough words for me to tell you just how wonderful this family is. They are calming, gentle, disciplinary when needed, loving, and most of all BLESSED to have 4 wonderful children!

This was one of my favorite sessions ever!

Thank you so much Lisa and Brad for welcoming me into your home for a few hours yesterday to meet your boys! I love them immensely!

Of course I HAD to go snag a second Santa hat!

and this shot… well the blog simply will not do it justice… its just simply too small.. I think this one needs to go right over the kitchen table…about a 15×45!

the spirit of Christmas

The spirit of Christmas.

this is one of MY all time favorite sayings about Christmas

“It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air.” by W.T. Ellis

With things here in Central Alberta slowing down, and people starting to suffer more and more,  I feel the need to help.  It is nothing super fancy, but it is definitely something that someone will cherish for a lifetime.

A good friend of mine, showed me a wonderful website. A website full of over 350 photographers, all giving in the spirit of Christmas. To this date over $350,000 (US FUNDS) has been pledged. I am proud to be a part of this spirit of giving. www.givingisawesome.com The spirit of Christmas is spreading. Just look at all of the love! giving

You know someone.

You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances.

You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season.

You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography – $2000 worth, to be exact. The winner will receive a complimentary photo session, the high resolution digital negatives for every image in their gallery, PLUS a complete set of 4×6 prints to match those files.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $250 print credit. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be?

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must reside in Central Alberta. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must e-mail me the full story : info@deannahallphotography.com

The winner will be announced on my birthday (January 3rd) –  so get nominating!  I can’t wait to read all of your entries!

Open your heart to someone this holiday season — and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

With love,

Deanna

Tomorrow session is a lovely little man named Noah! I can’t wait to meet him! His mommy is one of the sweetest clients ever…I was blessed to meet her already for her maternity session! I will also be hitting the post office box, to send out some of the last few orders that I have recieved!

Then on Tuesday, I have a pair of twin boys… (anyone else notice all the BOYS I have had lately). Then on Wednesday its Delivery day for some of you. I will be in town most of the day, and running back and forth to the collicutt center!

Here is a few more of Mr Koen…your gallery will be on its way…maybe tonight…depends how late I stay up…if not tonight..then you should have it tomorrow..sometime…
