Forestburg makes beautiful children~Red_Deer_Baby_Photographer

On tuesday I had the pleasure of making a small road trip to Forestburg. For those of you who don’t know where that is…head to lacombe and turn east…keep going northestish for about an hour and a half! It was a nice change, a 90 minute drive twice in one day, was super relaxing, and I actually really enjoyed being quiet! This session was a baby shower gift from a  good client of mine  for her Sister In Law (well almost anyways). How fun is that!

Here is a sneak peek for you!

Hope you enjoy!

She was having some great milk dreams while I was there, and a lot of the time, of course, it was while I had the camera down. But not ALL the time! hee hee.. I love BIG smiling babies!

She was so sweet, even at 4 weeks, she slept like a champ, and let us wiggle her in and out of several different cocoons that I have made, and was dying to try out!

And of course..why is it when I recruit big sisters help to check my lighting..i end up with cute shots like this one! TOTALLY unexpected! Messing around with my post processing on this one…it gives it a more true pink color!

8 pounds of newborn beauty~Red_Deer_Newborn_Photographer

Late last week, I received a panicked email from a daddy who was hoping to book a newborn session ASAP. And as luck would have it, I did happen to have an opening this week! What a great family I got to meet! Relaxed and fun, and totally into their brand new baby girl! Wait until you see her EYES, they were the most amazing!!! Its really rare to actually get the eye contact that we did during this session, generally that doesn’t happen until the babies are closer to 3-4 weeks of age!

Welcome to the world Sydney!

It took us a while to get her into the nice “deep” sleep that I love, but when we did…it was awesome! and totally worth the wait!

and I know that we talked about “most” of the images on the pink being converted into black and white..but sometimes..just sometimes an image is equally nice in color. Especially when its a strong daddy, holding his tiny daughter!

Heather and Craig,

thank you so much for inviting me to photograph your beautiful daughter! You are an amazing couple, who I think will make SUPERB parents! I truly enjoyed my afternoon with you (in the 84F heat).

neglected blog ~ Red_Deer_newborn_photographer

I have been such a bad blogger…I have been madly trying to get my office organized, kids rooms organized…and well between that, editing a few boudoirs, newborns, taking my kids to skating lessons, swimming lessons, and dance…I havent had much extra time for blogging!

I am off this morning for a newborn session in Sylvan Lake! I PROMISE to blog again today…well more likely later tonight..honestly..much later tonight! I cant quite show you my office YET..its close…but not quite perfect yet…

BUT I will show some peeks from this afternoon’s session!

almost 9lbs of total CUTENESS!- Red_Deer_Baby_Photographer

I had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful family yesterday! Jackie (aka mommie) was one of my clients who booked during pregnancy for her newborn session. I LOVE it when clients do that, it makes things so much easier for me to plan around! I always feel so bad, when I get an inquiry AFTER baby is born. Most of the time I book about 6 weeks in advance, so the chances of me having an opening immediately is usually slim to none. :(

I think that this little man, was probably one of my best newborns EVER.  He was sleeping when I arrived, we were able to work our way through a ton of shots rather quickly!  He stayed sound asleep for most of the session, and towards the end he woke up just in time for some family shots! I could have stayed all afternoon..he is just SOO CUTE! I simply could NOT get enough of him! I am not sure what part of him was the cutest…his cheeks, or his mohawk, or his chubby little arms… I give up! IT was ALL TOO CUTE for words!

please welcome to the world.

Jag (cool acronym for his full name Justin Alexander Gilbertson)

and check out this little face…i moved him more into the light..and as you can see, he didnt like it very well!
