FUN FUN session at the fair!~Red_Deer_Teen_Photographer

Last week was Westerner says in Red Deer so I just KNEW I had to do at least one session there!

This great family has been in contact with me since January ( I think?) about getting some photos done. We have put it off a few times due to the weather,  husbands working in the oil patch,  school trips,  child illness..you name it,  it has happened to us to delay this session…but maybe just maybe it was for the best!

Brandi and her family travelled down from Drayton Valley for a family session…again wanting something a little less than a traditional session.. I am confident that I delivered!

We started off at one of my favorite locations, then as we were walking back towards the vehicle, the light was just stunning! So I plopped them down into the field for this quick shot! It is exactly how I wanted it to look!

Isn’t she stunning?

We stopped over at a new location that I have been waiting to try out and I am VERY glad we did! I just love the lines and the industrial feel to this location.. you can bet I will be back there again! ( and yes… unfortunately DAD was called away to work again, so he was not able to come down, but after 6 months of rescheduling we just decided to do it without him!) BOO to the oilfield! LOL!

We finished up and then headed down to the fair. We were there a bit early so we had to wonder around, check out all the rides, EAT SOME MINI DONUTS (of course!) while we waited for the light to disappear! I begged them to go on a ride or two, but NO way… NOT EVEN if a JONAS brother was there to ride with!… hee hee.. It was great fun to parade around the fair with flashes and big lenses all over the place! We got lots of stares and looks to say the least!

This ride simply looked insane! so we HAD to stop for a shot!

and of course…. can ANYONE walk beside the WHAC – A – MOLE and not stop? I think its quite fitting for two preteen siblings!

This one hands down was my favorite of the night… the good old SUPER HIMALAYA! and funny thing.. the guy running it sounds exactly the same as the guy I remember running it , oh so many years ago….. I wonder if they have a carny school? so you learn to talk…SUPER HIMALAYA style???

Fun family session in Calgary ~

Before we left for holidays, I had a mad dash down to Calgary for a fun family session! This was the first day of the Stampede and I was expecting some insanity on the streets! But to our luck, it wasn’t too bad at all! I *almost* purchased them some lovely pink fuzzy cowboy hats to go with the entire Stampede theme…but I just couldn’t quite do it!

Thank you so much guys for having me come down! I truly enjoyed meeting your family, and I can’t wait to all hang out again!

here are a few quick peeks from your session! (which by the way I am madly editing, so you can expect an email with your gallery link within the next few days!)

ISnt she just the sweetest thing EVER? She really made me work for my money…fast…and not a pile of smiles..but I did get some super sweet shots!

Everything was going along just great.. the light was super.. and so were the kids.  I had them all set up for a posed shot on some steps…I always spend extra time taking care that there is nothing sticking out of my clients heads

(ie trees, posts, fences that type of thing…but how can I stop a random dude? this guy came out of no where!!!  WTH?

I got a new cool program a while back and I am in love with it. I messed around with it for a while and created a slideshow just for Alana & Sean!

I sent the slideshow to Alana, and she graciously responded back with this email!
“Thank you so much Deanna!!!!
I want you to know that I cried watching it!!! Its nice that the best wedding photos I have ever seen belong to me!
I can’t thank you enough!”

How SWEET is that!

I am so very honored.  I love my clients, and I can only hope that they love me HALF as much.  These wonderful clients contacted my way back in January I think it was! They were after a not so typical family session. We chatted several times about the options, and bounced our ideas back and forth..and then set the date.  We had to wait almost 4 months for this session between my busy schedule and their busy farming life! But I so think it was worth the WAIT!

They traveled for over 2 1/2 hours one way just to see little ole me! ( i wish i had a blushing smilie I could put in here)

WE hit several locations around town, some of which I had scouted for wedding use, and some..well …not so much…but there were up for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that I asked them to do!

without any more waiting.. here is the coolest family session I have EVER had!

a really cool grade 2 graduate!

one of my new favorite locations.. I just loved how it looked for the may wedding, so I figured why not bring them here too! The original intent was to have a harley in on a few of these, but we had fairly windy weather that day, so dad decided to leave the bike at home…:((

and look how awesome these two are! no wonder they have such cute kids!

now this one takes some explaining…. I have had this idea in my head for about 6 months..just waiting for the right clients to try it with.  We were giggling with hysterics when we were setting up this shot.  Now remember they did not want anything traditional..they asked for out of the box, … something no one else will have.. pretty sure this will be a one of a kind portrait!  Its definately OUT OF THE BOX!

girls, girls everywhere! ~ Red_Deer_Newborn_Photographer

Phew.. the last of my run on insanity! hee hee.. just kidding.. I had 5 sessions in the past 6 days! and needless to say, as a result I am way behind on editing.. so I am madly processing my fingers to the bone so that everyone can get their sneek peeks up as soon as possible! And I wanted to say a big thank you to those who graciously understood when I asked if I could bump their sneek peeks a day or so, so I could get these sweet little newborns up and completed! (thats you Nicole & Alexa!)

this was Monday’s session in Lacombe. You should remember mommy & daddy, as they graced my blog not very long ago with a funky outdoor maternity session! ( see here if you missed them! )

I am 100% positive that I could have spent MANY MANY more hours playing with this sweetie..she was simply perfect.  fussing when hungry, or wet.. that was it.   A newborn photographer’s dream!
