Triplets!~Red_Deer_Baby_Photographer

I had a wonderful day today.. it was filled with lots of fingers and toes, and smiles and purring. Triplets are simply the most amazing thing EVER. I first met with wonderful family back in the fall at the MOMS on the Go tradeshow. I have been patiently awaiting the arrival of these wonderful small lives. They were very well worth the wait.. some of the most amazing subjects I have yet to photograph. These three wonderful beings were concieved naturally! No drugs, no fertility treatments! the boys are identical twins and the little girl was a singleton! Its that totally amazing! There was one point today I had to stop shooting and just look. I had to take it all in.. there was 30 fingers and 30 toes all in a mishmash of naked newborn-ness. It was beautiful, and I am so honored to have been asked to photograph these little wonders!

Since there were 30 fingers and 30 toes to work with today, I called upon an upcoming photographer from Innisfail, Nichole Drevenak to come and help me shoosh, swaddle and tuck private parts! A huge thank you to Nichole for helping me this morning I could NOT have done it without you!

To Angela and Brian, thank you so very much for opening your home to myself and Nichole. We very much appreciated your hospitality ( and your great accents! LOL) (they brought us some Timmie’s part way through the session!)

I am doing the mad dash to Las Vegas tomorrow to attend WPPI. Its a HUGE conference of photographers full of LOTS of learning, and lots of Fun. I will be MIA until Friday March 12th! I will still have email access so if you need to chat, just pop me an email!

Fun and frosty Engagement session~ Red_Deer_Wedding_Photographer

On sunday.. YES I SAID sunday.. i had the pleasure of having a really busy day! I did a fun session for Optimal Fitness, with 12 ladies and their “after” bodies.. after the 12 week hard core boot camp program. So yes.. sadly I missed some of the most important hockey games EVER!!!!!! I finished up the fitness session early, and had about 45 minutes to spare so I headed over to the local pub called Chiefs.. and caught the 3rd period!

here is an example of what I saw.. and of course I had to stay and partake in some patriotic activities while awaiting for my Engagement clients to arrive!

Friday full of maternity sessions!~ Red_Deer_Maternity_Photographer

This past Friday was FULL of Bellies! Which means in about 4-6 weeks the blog will be FULL of BABIES! YAY!..!

While talking with my clients at a session, I am often reminded just how small the world, (especially Central Alberta) truly is! My First sneak peek for today is a client that googled me, made her photographer choice by my website portfolio, and booked her session. Skip ahead about 2 months.. and my husband is on a flight home from Winnipeg, and there is another man from Red Deer on the Flight.. they get talking.. and well it is the brother of our business partner! Cool huh? Now you ask.but how does this relate to this post.. well the other man, is also the father of my client.. and a VERY VERY excited grandfather to be!

So.. I arrive at the session, we giggle at the coincidence, and Jen goes on to tell me that her Grandparents originally lived close to where I am living.. Well turns out that they actually lived on the same land as we do now!!

Heading to Montreal!~Red_Deer_Photographer

I am so super excited about 2010! I have so many fun and educational things on the go! The First being WPPI, then two weeks after I get back from there, I am off to Montreal!

Here is why I am going! IF you know of anyone in the Montreal Area, please be sure to direct them here! This is an amazing opportunity for some portraits by 5 amazing photographers!

Five phenomenal portrait photographers from across Canada are being hosted in Montreal, by Natacha Silber Photography, for a fun-filled weekend of camaraderie, collaboration and most importantly….lots of photography. This unique three day event (April 10-12th, 2010) requires a variety of models, ranging from expectant mothers to teens, specifically:

Saturday April 10th from 9:30am – 3pm

Newborn babies (5-10 days old)

5 models needed, If you are due near this time please send your inquiry and we will contact you with further information.

Sunday April 11th 9:30am – 4:30 or 5pm Toddlers, children, and teens.

3-4 models needed (2- 15 yrs old) . Sessions maybe held outside at a chosen location.

Monday the 12th 9:30-noon Pregnant women (33-36 weeks)

2-3 models needed. Sessions maybe held outside at a chosen location.

Please send one photograph only for each model interested in participating to gabfest2010@gmail.com. Successful applicants will be contacted with further information and specific event details.

there are now 5 lovely girls residing in this household. I love this family. I giggle at the 5 women.. Wade.. you have your hands full now! what will it be like in say… 7 years???

I love going to clients homes, and they pull out something different and unique.. I LOVE LOVE this sock monkey! I think it will be the perfect item to reuse from session to session to help document this lovely one’s growth!
