Here is a quick photo from last week, I had a commercial shoot with a local clothing and jewellery company! Full blog post will follow in the next few days!

“Celebrating Adoption came into existance in early 2006. I was asked to photograph a family as they prepared to start the adoption process. One of the images from the session was to be used on the file given to prospective birth mothers. As a strong believer in adoption, I was very touched by the love that this family had for each other and the hope they held to add another child to their family. I wanted to celebrate with this family when they brought their new baby home so I offered a free session. It was a long road for this family with many tears shed as they waited for their child. In the meantime, I was introduced to more adoptive families that wanted to include the art of professional portraiture in their celebration. I have been blessed to photograph domestic adoptions, international adoptions, infants and older children. With each family, the Celebrating Adoption concept formed in my mind. Photographers from across the country asked to be part of the program, many of them adoptive parents themselves. ” Jennifer

OK so forward to my clients.. a few months ago i received an email from a wonderful adoptive mommy inquiring about a session.. well with work, school and RAIN..we had to post-pone the session for several weeks! This amazing young man was just over 9lbs at birth and in these photos he is a whopping 6 days old! Isnt he just the cutest? He was so full of smiles and giggles during our session, it totally warmed my heart. I know that I repeat myself, but I truly love my clients!

and then he was full of a lot of this as well! We all had a great giggle at this out take.. we ALL knew it was coming.. it had been 3 hours without much…um.. leakage..

then we got this! I could NOT not post this one.. this truly happens in 90% of all my newborn sessions, but rarely do I capture true joy of the parent at the same time! For this, Levi’s Parents will receive a free gift print of this image to go in the baby album, just to remember how much fun we had!

Last week I had the opportunity to photograph an amazing family! I first met this family about 3 years ago when our daughters were enrolled in the same dance class! You may recognize them from my blog, website and possibly some promotional material! But this time it was different! We had DADDY with us! We started off with some casual fun in their home, ( Great Idea Trace! I love how they turned out)!

Then we took a short drive to a wonderful location!.. I can tell you I will be back there again FOR SURE!

thank you all so much for allowing me to have so much fun while I work! I truly can’t imagine having any other job that this! Its soo much fun, as soo rewarding to be able to meet and become friends with so many of my clients… I need to think of a new word… frients.  yup.. clients that become friends! hahha Love it!

Here we go!

Saturday 11:17 am. I am in Sylvan Lake with my daughter shopping for last minute birthday party favors when my phone starts ringing… sometimes my Iphone and Sylvan just don’t get along, and this morning was one such day. The phone would ring, but no one was there.. So I just left it, and assumed the person would call back later.. but then it just kept ringing and ringing and ringing.. and after about 6 or 7 attempts the incoming call finally came through. It was Andrea Wiseman. She is local and totally amazing wedding photographer in Red Deer. There was total panic in her voice.. I knew it right away. Andrea is 6 months pregnant with her first child. I panicked for her… She proceeded to explain to me, that she was in extreme pain and needed to go to the hospital. Here is where the plot thickens. Andrea was in Olds…Andrea was hired to shoot Deanne and Cody’s wedding.. that started at 2pm.   It was already 11:30.. I am at least 45 minutes from Olds.  My mind raced for a few seconds, which I am sure to Andrea felt like an eternity… but I knew my choice… After a quick phone call to my dad, I called Andrea back and said that I had to run home, pack my lenses, and I was on my way.  I sped home, dumped my kids off with Grandpa, threw on some clean clothes, grabbed my camera bags, and all my CF cards, and jumped in the truck. I usually take months to prepare for a wedding. This time I had 45 minutes. I called my friend Jenny Jardine to come shoot for a few hours with me.  I arrived in Olds at 1pm just an hour prior to the ceremony I met Deanne and her amazing family for the first time.  First impressions are crucial. Deanne was calm and cool, and was in great spirits!  I am not sure how many brides would have been as relaxed and as accepting as she was.  She was having a wedding photographer that she had never met, probably had never seen any of my work… photograph the single most important day of her life.  She was chill.

Thank you so much Deanne and Cody for making me feel welcome and allowing me to insert myself into your day! For trusting me, and more so trusting Andrea.

Welcome to the world Hudson Jack!

I had so much fun with this family… they are young, full of life and love, and i just know they will be wonderful parents! We shot their maternity session a few months ago, which if you are interested you can find here

so without any more waiting.. here is Hudson.. an oilers fan from Day one five!

This one is one of my new favourites.. I am so in love with this portrait.. It will most definitely be going up onto the website…Maybe even as a large portrait sample
