Brad and Kari got married just a year ago.

They wanted me to photograph their wedding on the East Coast, but I was already booked on a wedding here in Alberta.

So now I get to photograph their family!

And this beautiful couple makes gorgeous babies!

I always love it when I get an email from a past client, requesting another session! well this particular client I met almost 2 years ago for a newborn session Just south of Didsbury! and guess what? #2 is on the way! I am so tickled pink that they drove up here to join me outside for a wonderfully WARM evening session! I can’t wait for about 6 weeks, when I get to visit them again for the newborn session!

and this is my new very favorite maternity image.. I love EVERYTHING ABOUT this one! I love the colors, I love the roundness of her beautiful tummy, I love the details, I love that it is different, and unique, I love that it just “feels” like me. Its just me! and its wonderful! Deanna all over this one! I love it all. (have I mentioned that I LOVE this image) LOL !

This one will be printed for me!

I often get the giggles when I receive email inquiries. I am just starting my 4th year of business, and I love love my clients. I am so often fortunate to see my clients enough times over the years, that they are indeed more my friends than clients. This family is such an example. My camera first met them about 3 years ago for a maternity/newborn sessions.. and again here they are.. again with another maternity.. (newborn to follow!) We decided to change things up some this time and head outdoors for a wonderful urban style session, and we TOTALLY lucked out on the weather! This was the only day of sunshine the entire week! YAY for our gamble, because the very next day hubby started harvest.. which of course means no pictures for a few weeks for sure!

And now for the sneak peek! I snuck out of town this weekend for a quick and fun maternity session. I always LOVE getting to shoot in new places! We started off in the house for a few traditional poses, then we wrapped up, forded through some snow banks, got off the beaten path, and got some wonderful outdoor portraits as well!

I love love love the tones in this series.. the natural light in this home was simply stunning! I can not wait to head back in a few weeks.. well ok lets make it 6 or 7 for the newborn photography session!

I have been excited about this session for a few weeks.( not that each session doesn’t excite me! LOL) I have had several sweet email conversations and even a few phone calls prior to Friday evenings session! I just new that it was going to be fun, I love when clients contact me with different ideas, and things that make me jump out of the box! Anyone who knows these two will know the significance of the quads..how fun to include them in such a momentous event in their lives!

For this maternity session, we toodled around Lacombe. We did a few shots at the inlaws, then we had a fun and casual stroll downtown! I had an ABSOLUTE blast with Myla and her husband, and I can simply NOT wait until I head back towards the end of June when their baby arrives!

a few months ago I got a phone call from a super excited grandmother to be… she wanted to surprise her daughter with a maternity session! After lots of giggles, and chatting, we finally got it all arranged! This new arrival will be the first grandchild on BOTH sides of the families… I soo can’t wait for the newborn session!

so.. we get the date set, and the time.. I show up at Jill’s house..and knock on the door, with a pile of paperwork and information for her.. then I realize… I LOCKED my DANG keys in my truck… We call the local key place..they say at least 60-90 minutes, that’s a no go.. we call around a few other places…no such luck either..so I call my dad…My dad is my savior in so many ways.. anyways he comes to the rescue, Jill offers to drive me down to the Extra Foods, so my dad can meet me there with my extra set of keys! Can you say a SWEET client! ? thank you so much girl!

and yes.. I did go get an extra key for my truck…but of course.. I have a truck with the dang chip in the key..so this key will ONLY unlock the door, not start the engine.. one of those suckers are $300 (CHOKE)

I have had a PILE of newborn bookings and maternity sessions over the past few weeks! In fact for the rest of 2008, I am filled with newborn sessions only! It really is true, when it rains it pours..and this time its pouring babies! ( and what better kind of rain could there be?)

Here is the first of 2 of my latest maternity sessions! This will be baby #2 for this couple..and what fun it will be!

sometimes all a mommy wants is ONE specific image…Most of the time we get it, some times we dont..I personally really like this one.. its NOT what Mommy had in mind..but its typical of a 2 year old big sister! its real life…

happy weekend!

I think this week might actually be a good weather week! I know I know..dont hold my breath…but one can always wish right?

well saturday, the rain managed to stay away for me, while i was loading, and unloading all my junk for the tradeshow! (thank goodness, rain makes me crabby when I have to go OUTSIDE).

This week i have to travel around and do several newborns, and somehow I have managed to squeeze in one more maternity! ( luckliy I am finally getting almost caught up with the editing!) Speaking of which…here is the last peek for Jen & Mark…your gallery link has been sent via email, this evening! Goodluck to you both, and happy labour vibes to you!
