Its been awhile since I have had a contest, and with school having just started, I think right now is the perfect time!

Here are the details for this sweet contest!

I am looking for the next new face for my ads and promotional material for 2011!

What do you win? a FREE session with me, an 11×14 mounted portrait from your session, and $100 Gift Certificate to Kids Castle Clothing Company, ( MY FAV store in Central Alberta to clothe my children!)

What do YOU need to do?!

YOU must email me a photo of your child at info@deannahallphotography.com. Please use the word “Stylin 2011″ in the subject line, and be sure to include first name and age .

I will be posting the photo of your child on my facebook group .

The rest is up to you! ITs up to you to share the link to your child photo with all your friends and family, you need to get them to click the like button underneath your childs image. (Note, they must be a fan of Deanna Hall Photography to vote)

in the end the photo with the most “likes” is the winner!

Deadline for entry is September 10th, 2010

Voting will commence September 10th at 9am. and will close September 17th at 9pm local Red Deer time.

Casting Calls for children!_Red_Deer_Child_Photographer

Tis the time of year that all of us photographers get the itch to learn and expand our skills…I think its the cold winter weather outside personally.

With this desire to learn, comes workshops and new adventures which result in the need for subjects!

The first casting call is for MONTREAL! you bet.. I am on my way to Montreal to join some fellow photographers in April 2010! I am totally stoked to be able to meet some of these fine photographers! We are looking for babies due the first week in April! Also an open call to children ranging in age from children ranging from 2-13 and teens from 14-17 that also reside in the Montreal area! I know that its a long stretch posting this casting call here in Alberta, but you just never know who has a cute relative on the Other side of our dear country!

The second casting call is for Red Deer. I am enrolled in a local workshop to be held on the 24th of April in Red Deer. We are looking for children ages 3-14. For this workshop there may be up to 20 photographers shooting your child, so please be sure to consider that before you enter. Some children will thrive with all the attentions.. others will not. Top 10 entries will be chosen by local photographers then the final winners will be decided by an online voting poll! You will also be required to sign a model release, and your childrens images will be posted on the internet, by one or more different photographers.

To enter your child(ren) please email me a photo of your child, as well with all contact information. Please be sure to state the age(s) of the entrants at info@deannahallphotography.com I will then forward all entries to the organizer so the top 10 can be chosen!

A few weeks ago I was asked to travel for a family session ( its fun to travel to new locations… and find sweet spots like this one!) After a few reschedules, we finally got the session done and on the cards! I know that these clients have been very patiently awaiting their sneek peeks ( Big thank you for doing so!) I am slowly getting caught up on my editing, and soon will be onto designing Christmas cards, and albums for all my fall clients!

YAY! its been a long week, with LOTS of editing going on, but I am proud to say…that I have finished my 2009 mini session sneak peeks!

This family is definately no stranger to my blog.. from newborn photos, last years family photos and again this year! Its so much fun to watch newborns grow into little boys.. I swoon over this little man’s red hair and blue eyes!

This family was simply too much fun.. both of the children have the most infectious smiles I have seen. One can not start to smile when you see them… gorgeous children!

handsome man he is! and did he ever know how to work the camera!

I think that his sister taught him everything she knew about how to work it.. she is just the most darling thing ever!

And of course.. a shot of them chillin’ on the bridge!

woot woot, only 3 more mini session sneek peeks after this..then onto a few full session sneak peeks!

This family is another one that has been featured on my blog before! I first met them last year during another set of fall mini sessions! At that time there was only one little girl, and one in the oven! I just love watching families grow and evolve.. i know I say this all the time..but I do truly love my job!

This one was a bit harder…. but there is still something so cool about real life in a series of photos. we both loved the running river water under the bridge!

As I am sitting here editing all my fall mini sessions, I have noticed one thing.. my clients are all wonderful! They all truly listened to the clothing suggestions, they all came with great attittudes and as a result I was able to capture some amazing portraits for them! When this little one stepped out of the truck I giggled. She is practicing to be Canada’s Next Top Model.. so watch out

here we go…. just LOOK at these boys! I could take their portraits forever!

A totally amazing family, with 2 of the most well behaved little boys ever! This years mini sessions were full of grade one children, and I have to officially say that I love them in Grade 1! we had such a fun time during their session! and holy cow are the boys photogenic! My camera just loved them both! Thank you so much for being as patient as you have been! Gallery link should follow within a week or so!

I have a few phone calls and emails today about invoicing and ordering, I promise that I will be getting to everyone’s emails later on this week. I literally havent had a chance to reply to any emails over the past 10 days… so please if you can bear with me for a few more days!

Only a few m ore peeks to get up! WOHHOO! and so far the weather is holding out… I just really want tomorrow’s weather to be the same as today! no colder..and NO wetter!
